I am, therefore I must think...

The purpose of this blog is similar to many blogs out there: to spread ideas. Particularly my ideas. I consider myself a rational, active minded person. I love the discussion of ideas but if you use any logical fallacies, prepare to be called out on them. I am interested in individual liberty and the philosophies involved with liberty. I refuse to label myself as this type of philosopher or that, because I think broad labels lead to dogmatism and regression of ideas. Respect begets respect, so keep that in mind when commenting.

Please feel free to browse through my public posts to get a feel for who I am and what I think. If you are not a member, I have just recently made it so you can comment on my public posts, however the comment will first need to be approved by me, so please be patient. If you wish to view the rest of my writings (70% of this blog is only viewable to members) please register or login. If you like what I have to say, be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed as well:

Hu’s Virtue List

March 16th, 2006, 12:15 am

Hu’s virtue list

  1. Love, do not harm the motherland.
  2. Serve, don’t disserve the people.
  3. Uphold science; don’t be ignorant & unenlightened.
  4. Work hard; don’t be lazy and hate work.
  5. Be united and help each other; don’t gain benefits at the expense of others.
  6. Be honest and trustworthy, not profit-mongering at the expense of your values.
  7. Be disciplined and law-abiding instead of chaotic and lawless.
  8. Know plain living and hard struggle, do not wallow in luxuries and pleasures.

MAF’s translation:

  1. Love, unconditionally, the government that oppresses your individuality.
  2. Serve Communism.
  3. Develop your mind at the point of a gun, demanding no pay for your work, giving your ideas freely to your government.
  4. Work hard to allow those with the guns to continue living mediocre, yet undeserved, lives.
  5. Be united with the soulless work horses around you. Ask nothing in return for your love especially when your fellow work horses turn you into the secret police for having an independent thought.
  6. Profit does not equal value. Your earnings are meaningless compared to the benevolence of your oppressive government. Oh yeah, if you feel bad about your profit, your government will do you the favor of taking it off your hands.
  7. Look away when we torture and kill your friends and family. In fact, love us for purging them of their selfish sins.
  8. Give your life to the government that you serve, die young of exhaustion and pain. We appreciate the sacrifice for our continued mediocre existence (your benevolant dictator thanks you).

Make your own translation! It’s fun to tell things as they are…

Also, if someone can find the 8 vices list, I would appreciate it. It was hard enough to find the virtues. Ironically enough I was unable to find this list on American main stream media. I had to pull this list from a popular Islamofacist news source… I confirmed it with an article published on a "People’s" news source in China.

I am a little worried that I was unable to find this full list in America… Is the main stream media censoring itself again? What’s new? At least we have our precious blogs…
