I am, therefore I must think...

The purpose of this blog is similar to many blogs out there: to spread ideas. Particularly my ideas. I consider myself a rational, active minded person. I love the discussion of ideas but if you use any logical fallacies, prepare to be called out on them. I am interested in individual liberty and the philosophies involved with liberty. I refuse to label myself as this type of philosopher or that, because I think broad labels lead to dogmatism and regression of ideas. Respect begets respect, so keep that in mind when commenting.

Please feel free to browse through my public posts to get a feel for who I am and what I think. If you are not a member, I have just recently made it so you can comment on my public posts, however the comment will first need to be approved by me, so please be patient. If you wish to view the rest of my writings (70% of this blog is only viewable to members) please register or login. If you like what I have to say, be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed as well:

I can not stand Christians, or any faith for that matter, but I absolutely can not stand for our government supressing freedom of speech (or religion) no matter what somebody has to say. I do not condone these protestors but their right to protest should not be squelched.

Read this and get pissed as our government sets the precedent for the ban on dissent.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Also, read the last post. I still want to hear from everyone.

Penn talked about this on his radio show today (05/26/06).

The MAF Policy

May 5th, 2006, 3:08 am

Here is how we are going to fix our country. Starting now. Go forth and spread the word. NOW.

We will start by legalizing drugs, prostitution and other personal CHOICES that are currently illegal for whatever (religious) reason. Next we sell all government run organizations to private companies except for the judicial branch of the government, the police and army. After that, each individual does what he or she does what he or she thinks is best for his or her own life without stepping on anyone else’s head to achieve his or her individual goals. Of course the stepping on the head requires the need for a government monopoly on law, police and army. Our country only opens its borders to countries that have their government set up EXACTLY like our new government and only allows citizens from different government run countries to come in by application. This application will basically be a background check and a test to make sure the individual understands and agrees with individual freedom. The final step will be to abolish all social programs and let the cripples, white trash, homeless and junkies survive on the “good” will of the altruists. The altruists will soon find that “good” will takes effort, not mooching off of the unwilling, to achieve their goals.

What’s the catch? YOU have to respect the right to individual freedom. You can not lobby for a law against the pot smoking hippies, the religious racist nut-jobs or the greedy money loving capitalists just because you do not like the way they run their own lives. The catch also applies to the hippies, the racists and the capitalists. But remember that the INDIVIDUAL can be punished for violating ANYONE ELSE’S rights.

After these changes have been made they can not be voted out by the majority and individuals will live as free as possible without having to resort to gang warfare to protect their individuality.

What is so hard about this? Give me ONE reason this would not work. Go ahead. I am waiting to crush your ideas like the ants they are.

In related freedom…
