I am, therefore I must think...

The purpose of this blog is similar to many blogs out there: to spread ideas. Particularly my ideas. I consider myself a rational, active minded person. I love the discussion of ideas but if you use any logical fallacies, prepare to be called out on them. I am interested in individual liberty and the philosophies involved with liberty. I refuse to label myself as this type of philosopher or that, because I think broad labels lead to dogmatism and regression of ideas. Respect begets respect, so keep that in mind when commenting.

Please feel free to browse through my public posts to get a feel for who I am and what I think. If you are not a member, I have just recently made it so you can comment on my public posts, however the comment will first need to be approved by me, so please be patient. Ayn Rand on Racism

September 28th, 2006, 11:38 pm

I don’t know why I have never shared this article on my blog, but here it is. One of my favorite Ayn Rand essays:

The Virtue of SelfishnessRacism is the lowest, most crudely primitive form of collectivism. It is the notion of ascribing moral, social or political significance to a man’s genetic lineage — the notion that a man’s intellectual and characterological traits are produced and transmitted by his internal body chemistry. Which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective of ancestors.

George Bush Held Up Traffic

September 28th, 2006, 11:30 pm

I guess GWB was in town today. I was held up in traffic because his motorcade decided to roll through the intersection I wanted to go through.

Has anyone caught any of the political advertisements on TV? They are all so dirty. Why do politicians seem to get more evil every election year? Maybe I am just noticing it more since I actually have strong, well thought out convictions now. I saw some republican slimeball candidate today who was talking trash about his opponent. His main “arguement” against his opponent was that he was one of the “slim minority” of voters in the senate who voted no on the Patriot Act. Then I saw some pro-liberal slime commercial that simply stated that another candidate was supported by GWB, and that’s why not to vote for him. Why not vote for candidates based on your values? Do people really vote for someone because they are better at mudslinging than the other? I guess they do, or they wouldn’t spend money running these ads.

I would like to make a call out to anyone who reads this blog to try to vote for a candidate who actually supports a majority of values that you have, even if that means voting for a third party. Aren’t you sick of playing the lesser of two evils game? I live by my ideals, so why not vote by them too?

Remember that the lesser of two evils is still evil. -Penn Jillette, B.S. Episode

The enemy of my enemy is not my friend. -Modified Arab Proverb, probably also a Penn Jillette quote.

Setting a precedent

September 26th, 2006, 11:29 pm

Remember when New York banned smoking is restaurants?  Anybody who says laws do not set precedents for other laws are ignorant.  Guess what they want to ban now?

THE PROPOSAL: New York City health officials want to stop restaurants from using artificial trans fatty acids, commonly listed on food labels as partially hydrogenated oil.  …read the rest here.

This is a SMALL example of why we need less laws, less regulations, rather than more.  Governments who want to control how you live your life will not stop at the small things.

Dubya

September 26th, 2006, 12:07 am

As promised… I finally am going to start posting some of my DeviantART work. I took all of these images off of that socialist safe haven awhile back and am going to start uploading them again here. I will keep most of them protected, so you must be a member to view my entire collection. Please refer to the Art category for more.

This is my most famous piece. It’s our dear, confused president, who I think is a fairly honest man despite is inability to debate. If he didn’t trample on the constitution and was not a religious nut job, I might just like the guy.

True Story

September 25th, 2006, 9:32 pm

I rolled out of a deep sleep at about 5:00 in the morning and exclaimed like an old angry man, “God damned liberals”.

Fatwa Fridays

September 24th, 2006, 7:49 pm

Man, I love this state…

CINCINNATI, Sept 24 (Reuters) - A car commercial proclaiming a jihad on the U.S. auto market and offering “Fatwa Fridays” with free swords for the kids is offensive and should not be aired, Muslim leaders said on Sunday.

The radio advertisement for the Dennis Mitsubishi car dealership in Columbus, Ohio, has “a whole jihad theme,” said Adnan Mirza, director of the Columbus office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

“They are planning on launching a jihad on the automotive market and their representatives would be wearing burqas … ,” Mirza said. “They mentioned the pope in there and also about giving rubber swords out to the kiddies — really just reprehensible-type comments.” …read the rest here.

This story was also mentioned on the Penn Radio Show today.

Che

September 24th, 2006, 12:26 pm

Take a moment and read the following.  I know none of my readers are socialists, but I want you to understand what a socialist icon looks like.  Every time you see someone wearing a Che t-shirt, remember this.

“‘What did you do?’ We asked horrified. ‘I tried to defend my papa,’ gasped the bloodied boy. ‘I tried to keep these Communist sons of b**tches form murdering him! But they sent him to the firing squad.’”

Soon Che’s goons came back, the rusty steel door opened and they yanked the valiant boy out of the cell. “We all rushed to the cell’s window that faced the execution pit,” recalls Mr. San Martin. “We simply couldn’t believe they’d murder him! Then we spotted him, strutting around the blood-drenched execution yard with his hands on his waist and barking orders – the gallant Che Guevara.”  …read the rest here.

Socialists enforce their ideals by force…  which shows you how incredibly evil they truly are.

Liberal Media

September 22nd, 2006, 11:50 pm

This is a quote from a AP article that I just read…

War price on U.S. lives equal to 9/11. Now the death toll is 9/11 times two… U.S. military deaths from Iraq and Afghanistan now surpass those of the most devastating terrorist attack in America’s history

Now you fucking tell me that the media does not have a liberal bias! Guess which quote didn’t make it into this “fair and balanced” article.

War price on terrorists lives equal to 9/11… Now the death toll is 9/11 TIMES TEN MOTHERFUCKERS! Thank the men and women who have died ridding the earth of real evil, stupid, dark-ages terrorist trash.

I hate you liberal media. If you would just come out and be honest about your possition, I might respect you more.

Deadline for Senate to Act on H.R. 4128

September 21st, 2006, 3:51 pm

Time is Running Out

Now is the time for the Senate to act. It is more important than ever that you make your voices heard. Call Senator Frist NOW and ask him to put S. 3873, federal eminent domain reform, on the Senate’s agenda and allow a vote. Explain that the American people are strongly opposed to the abuse of eminent domain, both politically and morally - and this opposition will only continue to grow. After you contact Senator Frist’s office, we urge you to continue to contact your own senators in support of S. 3873.

Angelina Jolie to star in Atlas Shrugged

September 21st, 2006, 10:58 am

Straight from Variety:

Angelina Jolie is set to star in the film adaptation of Ayn Rand’s iconic novel “Atlas Shrugged” for Lionsgate, says Variety.

I guess this is more fact than fiction now…

Dagny Taggart Dagny Taggart
Angelina Jolie stars as the vice president of Taggart Transcontinental railroad. Seeing as she has no other skills as an actress, other than eye candy, the love triangle (rectangle?) between she, John, Francisco and Hank will come to climax as a foursome at Galt’s Gultch.
